How do I remove this ??

Hi..
I wanted to try Vista transformation...
didn't like it...so removed...but..It has left Vista Icons over regular ones...
so How do I get XP's original icons..Yes, I tried searching..in Add-remove..if it has any additional software to remove these icons..but no it doesn't...

I've heard that is a huge pain to remove. I don't know how to do it though, sorry.

Yeah, it's a real pain in the a** to remove. I think I had to do system restore..but I can't remember if that fixed it or not...

ya, that VTP is hard to remove, System Restore is the best way to go about it

Have you trying running the system file checker to see if it would restore all of the bits and pieces?
Go to Start, Run, SFC /Checknow
You might need to have your XP CD or whatever vendor restore CD came with your PC handy to restore the files.

first of all I'm removing...beta..SP3 because in order to replace files..I have to have SP3 cd...

It allows you to rebuild the icon cache. Try that.

From another forum-

It uninstalled, but it left behind Vista icons. So I installed a trial version of some program that modifies the icon cache. I changed 3 icons back to normal, and the trial uninstalled itself, but in the process it emptied the cache and rebuilt it.


So what Mak said should work

I have just removed SP3..so again..it shows...Windows XP SP3 release candidate 1 ..should I update or ignore..!!

You removed SP3 yet it still shows the watermark for it? Is that what you are asking about?
