Can you help my friend out with building a $1100 gameing rig that will play cs:s no problem and will be a bit future proofed?

But hes from canada so :p parts need to be orderd off of here

Computers at TigerDirect.ca

He sounded like he wanted to go with a 680i, i didnt recommend it though...

I was thinking of hooking him up with a good dual core intel since they seem to be better for gaming as everyone says...

And he plans on buying a 8800 gt 512, i convinced him not to buy the superclocked and go with the regular and oc it himself...

Thats the case he wants... but...if you guys recommend something diffrently tell me

NCIX.com - Buy Intel Pentium Dual Core E2200 Dual Core Processor LGA775 2.2GHZ 800FSB 1MB Retail - BX80557E2200 In Canada.

That cpu looks weak, can't he get something better for 100? Dont be scared to recommend AMD.

Yup an 8800 gt looks good...

What is the diffrence between the galaxy and the evga other then price?

I mean i know galaxy doesn't come with the step up but its a little bit cheaper then the evga..

NCIX.com - Buy Galaxy GeForce 8800GT 600MHZ 512MB 1.8GHZ DDR3 PCI-E DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out OEM Video Card - 88YFF6HUFEXX In Canada.

or

For harddrive i was thinking the 32mb cache root... Its not that much more over the 16mb cache as far as price...

NCIX.com - Buy Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 3.5IN 500GB SATA2 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Cache NCQ Hard Drive - ST3500320AS In Canada.

How about this for PSU?

NCIX.com - Buy Silverstone Element ST50EF-PLUS 500W ATX12V 24PIN Power Supply W/120MM Fan Active PFC 80PLUS RoHS - ST50EF-PLUS In Canada.

Ill go with these babies for his ram

How about this for the amd route...

NCIX.com - Buy ECS A770M-A V1.0 ATX AM2+ AMD770 SB600 Dual Channel DDR2 PCI-E16 SATA2 RAID Sound GBLAN Motherboard - A770M-A(V1.0) In Canada.

NCIX.com - Buy AMD Phenom 9600 Quad Core Processor 2.3GHZ 4MB 95W Socket AM2+ - HD9600WCGDBOX In Canada.

Case im leaning on sending this one too him

NCIX.com - Buy Antec Nine Hundred Mid Tower Gamer Case 900 ATX 9 Drive Bay No PS Top USB2.0 1394 Audio - NINE HUNDRED In Canada.

I skimped out on the mobo a bit, and after all this it comes out to $1,008 not counting MIR and without shipping + tax... all of it off of NCIX also

so the list is

Processor = Phenom 9600
Mobo= ECS A770M-A V1.0 ATX AM2+ AMD770 SB600 Dual Channel DDR2 PCI-E16 SATA2 RAID Sound GBLAN Motherboard
GPU= Galaxy 8800 gt 512mb
Ram= Crucial Ballistix tracers
Case= Antec Nine Hundred Mid Tower Gamer Case 900 ATX 9 Drive Bay No PS Top USB2.0 1394 Audio
Hard drive= 500 gb, 32mb cache
PSU= Silverstone Element ST50EF-PLUS 500W ATX12V 24PIN Power Supply W/120MM Fan Active PFC 80PLUS RoHS

Think thats it so far, but HEY, that comes into his budget and is not a bad build AT ALL... Of course there isnt an aftermarket cpu cooler yet, and that mobo i assume is weak since it is cheap...

Suggestions please <3

Ok, well if someone thinks i should go with

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Dual Core Processor LGA775 3.0GHZ Wolfdale 1333FSB 6MB Retail *Limited Qty*

and suggests a good mobo then ill go with that because I heard it outperforms the q6600 in gameing...

How does that case look that i picked out for him?
