Try to get 8800GT 512MB or 8800GTS 512MB because both are based on the new G92 cores and both perform better than 8800GTS 640MB

For around the same price you could get a samsung 226bw same specs just more of a brand name. I have never been real happy with proview stuff mine craped out on me to much. I also would go the with the 512 8800 Gts it will kill the 640 you got listed.

$325 seems a little steep for your proc is that lowest you found one?

yes the 640 is an older card, go with the 512.

thats 325 Australian dollars, according to this website (Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Price Comparison - Buy at cheap prices) it is $321.95 to $401.24 at 43 stores

Ok ill see if i can find the 512, i just thought bigger meant better, but i guess its really not size, its how you use it. :p

thanks for your help.

i was told not to buy off of the internet, because i might get a faulty part.
like the sites you get links to from nvidia... like tigerdirect.com etc.
how safe is it really?

Oh and another problem was:
Windows XP
OR
Windows Vista?

You can get a faulty part anywhere at any time. While tigerdirect is somewhat over-priced they are very reliable when it comes to returns and shipping.

the Gigabyte X38-DQ6 i think has a back plate already installed for some type of cooling chipset or something, so you cant use any big aftermarket coolers with thereown backplates, but if you were gonna use the ac7 you should be ok then

So Then I dont Have to buy expensive speakers. i plan to install seround sound soon.
