Problems adding printer and installing driver

Hello,

I have an Epson Stylus D92 printer and unable to add my printer driver or anything.

When I go to Printers and Faxes --> Add a Printer I get the error message:

"Operation could not be completed."

I read some articles about enabling the service 'Print Spooler' in Administrative Tools --> Services but whenever I try I get the error:

"Could not start the print spooler service on local computer.

Error 1068: The dependancy service or group failed to start"

And everything I try just does not seem to work...

Anybody know what I can do...

My OS is Windows XP Pro it has worked before so not sure what has changed!

Do this:
Try to enable restart the service again to get the error message. Go to your event log and it will tell you which service needs to be started. Start that one and then restart the printer spooler again.

Go to start>run>type in "services.msc". Verify that the Print Spool Service is started and check the properties to make sure that it is set to start automatically.
