My pc takes a good 10 minuiets to load up. I have Windows xp Pro and have run all sorts of programs, registy cleaners, gone though msconfig, everything. I have a 80 gig hard disk with about 60 gigs of stuff on.

So is there anyway to speed it up?

I might do a format soon, so is it worth installing xp on a dedicated partition? I've seen some pcs load up in seconds.

Spec
AMD Athlon xp 2000+ (1.67 GHZ)
512mb ddr ram
G-Force mx440 (graphics card)
Hard disk runs at about 6800rpm (i think)

Any help would be great

What I did to my PC:

(dividing the 36GB WD Raptor)

WD-Raptor
C: WindowsXP (FAT32) 8GB
D: Software for WindowsXP FAT32 (13GB)
E: Combined Word out of WinXP and Win2K FAT32 (13GB)

Seagate Barracuda 120GB
C: Win2K 8GB FAT32

other partitions not mentioneing

I havent installed anything except system/shared files out of softwares on C, else eveything on E:.

if you arent on LAN, better is to do on FAT32, NTFS is a bit slower. else, once a month (as ikf required) Defragmant your hard drivers as well (though I havent as I didnt asked for). still my PC boots XP in 7 seconds.
