im debating whether to go amd or intel on my managers build.
she doesnt need something that fast but she wants something future proof.
im debating whether to get the p35 ds3l with e8400
or skip the e8400 and get the e2180/e2200

or go with some amd config.

pls help me.

i can get the e8400 for 190 at microcenter and im gonna be going today in about a few hours.
thanks.

if your considering AMD, you should look at the AMD Santa Ana Opteron Chips, I just found em (I may buy one if this 4600+ doesn't overclock), and they look decent

but if you can splurge for an e8400, go with that

well she trusts me and im trying to save her as much money.
she gave me 900 bucks.

so far i have the
ram-50
psu+7600gt= 130
dvd burner- 30
hdd 320gb- 65

i need mobo(ds3l) or some am2 chipset
case( cm 690) 20 after 40mir:)
cpu e8400/e2180/e2200 or some amd one?!?!?( i dont kno wany good budget amd cpus or mobos)

and....monitor which will be the hanns 19"ws for 170.

get these:

Biostar TA770 + AMD Opteron 1210

or

Gigabyte p35-ds3l or Abit ip35-e + e2200

get these:

Gigabyte p35-ds3l or Abit ip35-e + e2200

thats what ive been thinking:
then i could oc it easily to about 2.4-2.6 on stock volts so i dont have to worry about it when its not next to me and temps shouldnt be an isseu since it will be in the cm 690.

although i talked to her and she said she rather get something future proof.

I would go with AMD if you want something future proof. (AM2+ only)

Intel's current chipsets will be outdated very quickly but AMD's AM2+ boards can use DDR3 with future AM3 CPUs.
