What is GO stepping?

a stepping indicates basically a different version of a processor. G0 is the newer q6600 stepping (the old one is B3). the G0 is greatly improved over the B3 stepping especially in heat output (hence improved overclocking). you can spot a G0 by looking for the code "SLACR" on the processor's IHS (the metal cap on the processor) or on the box.

Ya, i'm trying to correct it myself, as i never realized the difference until it was explained to me.

lol, its revision :D at last Ste and Myself aren't the only ones using the politically correct terms

Its not stepping its like the a newer version of the CPU for example the G92 8800GTS (complete BS? :p)

In CPU-z It will say stepping B and Revision G0...

I was scared that i bought the older verison by mistake for a while, even though it said it was G0 on watever site i bought my proc from..
