Having had both a GT and GTS, i like the GTS512 better, plus you'll be able to step up to a GTX in a month or 2 if you get the evga model.

I can vouch for the awesomeness of the GTS 512. and eVGA always delivers. you wont regret buying it.

Ya, the GTS512 comes with a better cooler, 25% more shader processors, and can overclock much higher. I can get my 512's to run 775 core and 2100 memory. Also my cards both came with a copy of crysis.

I like my gt, but wouldint mind a gts either. Its a must if you wanna game on a 24".

Well, I am pretty set on a 8800GTS now. The next thing on my list is a motherboard... my knowledge is pretty limited in this area heh. Any suggestions based on the build I have listed in sig?

If its SLI compatible...cool. If not, thats ok too. My max resolution will be 1680x1050 since I have a 22", and I can always bring the res down a bit if needed, no biggie.

looks great to me. I'd try to get a P5E for PCI-E 2.0 ...and the x38 chipset is just badass.

Also you might want to look into getting a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme instead of the Zalman

How's the 780i chipset compared to the x38?

Oh and as far as the Thermalright ultra-120 goes, I hear it runs about 1C cooler than the Zalman, and its about the same price, so yeah I may go with it instead.
