Well the last batch of updates was sent out on 1/08/2008. There was another 5 updates put out after that but were not a part of WU. Those do not affect anything that could be a part of this. So it would just be the updates from 1/08/2008 that i would need to know if you have them or not. There has been talk of some of those updates affecting systems.

No not got them as I have never been on the internet as of yet with that computer and haven't udated windows since it was built which was about 2 months ago

Well then honestly i would say get the updates. Who knows if the OS has been udpated since it wsa installed at all. Some of the updates might help resolve this issue.
