Well, i was bored so i decided to install css on my 2004 hp laptop, with a radeon 9600 32mb and pentium m 1.4ghz 2gb ram. I did the video stress test, and only got about 13fps average on high settings at 1024x768, no aa/hdr. Then i thought, maybe ill try to get the omega drivers on here. Used revo uninstaller, removed the old drivers, rebooted and installed the omegas.

My average fps is now 33.3fps!! Thats an amazing performance increase over the old 2005 drivers i had on here (hp doesnt support my lappys video driver anymore). Overall image quality has improved as well, im very impressed.

the crappy alienware laptop i had with the following specs had 56FPS in CS:S!!

Intel p4 2.8Ghz
1gb ddr
ati radeon 9000 32mb I think or 64mb.
60gb hard drive

Anyway, you should be able to do better then 33.3 I would think. Could be that it was an Alienware though. I sold it for $100.00 more then what I paid, about 2-3 months ago.

Somehow norcent, i dont believe much of what you say, i mean the radeon 9600 is more powerful than the 9000. Plus me having another gig of ram, and a faster chip, just doesnt make sense that your "alienware" would get more.
