Xfire HD3870 vs. SLI G92 GTS

If I were to sell my 680i and 8800Ultra, which of these two would you pick.

I was looking into other hardware for gaming. I don't really care for 3dmark, I just want to know which would be faster at gaming.

Xfire with a Maximus Formula with HD3870's ~ $750
or
SLI with a 780i and 8800GTS's 512MB ~ $900

obviously one is $150 cheaper than the other...would it really be worth the extra money to go with the nvidia route?

A. its cheaper
B. Crossfire Scales better so you'd get almost as good (if not the same or better) performance as the dual GTS'
C. no lousy nVidia Chipsets
D. Maximus Formula rips

seems to me, after looking at some bench's,a single GTS is just as fast as 3870's in CF

so do you have 2 ultra's or just one? because arent 2 ultras better then both those options?

inplus the 3870x2 and 9800GX2 are just around the corner, why not wait to see how they preform?

i'll be dropping my ultra for a 9800gx2. I've noticed a few games hurt performance, running only 1280x1024. supreme commander, neverwinter nights 2 and C&C 3 with retarded amounts of units (most fun time). So even though its a great card it leaves much to be desired, since ill be switching to 1900x1200 pretty soon.

But yeah I'd wait for the new ones if i were you.

yeah i'm switching to a 24" VERY soon also. So i need enough power to run higher resolutions.
