Upgrade?

Ok, my family has the computer I built them a while ago...Lian Li PC 65, AMD XP 2800, 512 MB Crucial, 120GB Maxtor, Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB....they now want another computer so I looked at the old gateway and it is a piece. It has a P3 but all the rest of it is crap worthy of a garbage heap (meets Gateway Standards). This computer will be used for applications mostly but I want the best bang for the buck and it has to be under 800, I could use the case and the fans and it has a monitor, speakers, mouse/keyboard. I need ram, mobo/processor (P3 sucks), remember think cheap!

Thats $500 bucks, roughly. And the 9600se is an ok card, I have one, plays FarCry on medium and that is all you need. Esp if this comp is only for apps. That leaevs you $300 for what ever.

the 9200 runs better then the 9600se, so get that instead and it's also cheaper, either way, you're only using it for apps, so this doesn't need to be a gaming machine at all
