I'm about to take a sledge hammer to this thing

That's what I was considering doing... I've already sent an RMA request to gigabyte, I'm about to go check the warranty on my q6600 still applies and if so, request an RAM for that too.
 
Well I've been been approved to RAM both the motherboard and CPU, so it looks like I'll be sending those out today. Thanks to everyone who helped me.
 
Make sure and check all you PSU wires. I caught one of mine on a sharp edge and shorted it. When I got everything back together and turned it on, it did the same thing. Turned on and right back off. After about an hour of searching, I found the wire next to my HDD cage with a cut in it from the sharp edge. Once that was fixed, everything worked fine again. Hate to see you get everything RMA'd and installed and have the same problem again.
