And reactivating your copy of XP just means calling Macro$haft up, and explaining to them that all you have done is upgraded your PC, and don't have multiple copies of XP on different computers. I've never had to do it, but maybe Musjunk can give you an idea of how long he was on the phone with them.
 
when you install a new motherboard, you need to "repair" the OS using the CD so it will 'adapt' to the new motherboard; when you install XP, it creates the files neccesary to run on your mobo and what not, and when you change the motherboard, you need to replace these files with the neccesary ones to run
 
the files should be on the cd that will have come with your mobo. by the way the Asus K8V Deluxe is a socket 939 mobo, i dont think u can use the 754 chip in it.
