I've just reinstalled WindowsXP and don't know if I have to install any driver or sth for my SATA hard drive. It's Western Digital 160GB.
When I view the info with Sisoft Sandra, it says that my HD is not in optimal mode (current mode: UDMA-5).
Benchmarking gives the following results:

Buffered read: 21MB/s

Sequential read: 52MB/s

Random read: 24MB/s

Buffered write: 61MB/s

Sequential write: 54MB/s

Random write: 33MB/s

Average access time: 22ms

I find it too bad for a SATA150? Am I right or missing sth?
What can I do to know if my HD is performing in its correct/optimal mode?

HDDs do not have drivers. You need drivers for the SATA controller!

So, looking at these info:

Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers
Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers
Primary IDE Channel [Controller]
Secondary IDE Channel [Controller]

Is my SATA HD performing at IDE speed?
If I need to install driver for SATA controller, is there any way to do it without reinstalling Windows? and not with a floppy disk?
