sli is overated ONLY if you are using a medium resolution screen...
if you are going high res 24 inch or above, it totally makes a difference.
there is no doubt about that. if you are using a 17 (or even 19 or 22) inch lcd, yeah...you dont need it....lol but what is need against want...?

yeah my screen is 1440x900 and i use another thats 1024x768

not really any benefit of sli and two monitors.
unless they are both of med-high rez (like 22-24").
you cna build a script to switch sli on and off on a single monitor for gaming, but...hassle hassle hassle.
you shouldnt need 2 cards for screens that size. go for the quad amigo.
