hey this is going to be my 2nd build/upgrade to my amd pc i built last year. i was doing my research and finding the best parts for my budget and came up with another mid-ranged amd pc. after some critique many people have advised me to go intel. my main purpose is to be able to lightly game (cod4) and my original budget was $600-650ish with the monitor but i guess ive gone a bit over.

1.) what makes intel c2ds better than amd x2s even when similar amd comparisons have higher ghz?
2.) whats the PCI e 2.0 and will it work with normal pci e slots on the P35?
3.) what do you think of this set up/upgrade?

1. C2D's are better for now because Intel has better performance while AMD is made for cheaper budgets. (Don't flame me AMD lovers! It's my opinion but feel free to add your own opinions! [quote if you can explain me a bit more to why people choose Intel > AMD, please do!])

2. Yes, it's compatible. It'll just reverse the speed but shouldn't be a huge difference.

3. Are you doing video-editing of some sort? If not, you'll only need 2GB of RAM. With that extra money from the other 2 RAM's that aren't needed, you can put it into a different motherboard, which is the Gigabyte P35-DS3R. VGA, don't really know much about the 3850 but 8800GT 256 / 512 would do.

Everything else you have there looks great!
