Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

I'm getting a hd2900gt from Nosboost, so I'm gonna be up there... btw, Apokalipse, could I use an Arctic Freezer Pro64, to get to 3.0ghz?

Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

yeah i've got an afp-64 on my 4000 and its up at 2.9 stable atm. I'm just too lazy to bump it up to 3+ which I know its capable of.

Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

right now my CPU is 3.0GHz, 1.36v, Multiplier is 14, RAM speed is 430MHz 4-4-4-12 24 2T, FSB:DRAM is CPU/7 (whatever that means).

It might have been on the back porch..... :) outdoor temps ~21 deg. F
It's summer here. We've had days with up to 42ºC AIR temperature

Good thing I have my watercooling. I don't know how my CPU would survive without it. Especially with all that I'm pushing it through.

Dunno. I was able to get 2.9GHZ out of it.
I think you can take the IHS off the 4600+

I think I remember the 4600+ did run a little hot, so taking off the IHS might not be a bad idea.

But my 6000+ has the IHS soldered onto the core.

Re: Official AMD Overclocking Thread.

the metal thing that's covering the CPU die.
