My Computer Stalls serial ATA problem?

Hi I've got A DVD-RW, 2 hard drives, cd-rw, and a DvD player on my computer. I've set 1 hard drive as primary master, The DVD-RW as primary slave, and CD-rw as secondary slave and DVD player as secondary slave. The other hard drive is a Serial ata. I have a Gigabyte SinXp1394 which has 4 channel IDE. Here is a link to the specs " http://www.digital-daily.com/mother...394/index02.htm " Which would be the best set up for my system. My computer lags a lot when I try to access the cd/dvd devices. Please help!
