Quick Question! Best Graphics card for under £80?

Hey Everyone,

I haven't been around for a while, but I really need just a quick answer if possible, I'm doing a build and have been assigned a simple but powerful graphics card, at least, decent enough for some good gaming. The budget is really £80.

Preferably be able to play Call of Duty 4 at a decent level @1280x1024.

My first thought was 'you aren't going to manage that'

I think 120 odd, you could get a very up-to-date card, such as the 3850/3870 series.

Otherwise, it looks like you will have to go 8600 series or so, but don't expect full COD4 settings on 1280 res! the 7900 series seems to be more expensive in the UK, unfortunately.

Afraid my Ati knowledge is severely limited, which is where you generally look if you are on a tight budget.

However, I highly recommend stretching your budget for this card....it really is a million times better in every way.

3850 or 8800gt 256mb if you can manage.

edit: scratch the 7900gs didn't realize how expensive they have gotten...

in anothe thread some one posted the 2900gt 256mb model which looked very good for about 120 american.
