Why no b: drive?

I think you are able to set A B: drive at least in Vista from Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Computer management.
 
You can't select the drive letter anywhere, it is somethin along the lines of, a cable actualy selecting the letter. If you have a floppy cable that can hook up multiple drives the "master" at the end would be drive A:, and the "slave" in the middle would be B:, there is and was no way to switch them around, the wire missing between A: and B: is what decided there letters. So it IS a physical limitation.
 
This is not true. To prove it i have switched my External drive from X to A: just to show you that you can have A:\ as a drive letter in Vista.



So right there it shows not only in disk management but in Computer as well. It is not a physical limitation. It was a software limitation from Windows in previous versions saved for the floppy drives.
