AMD or Intel dual Core and which brand laptop?

I picked up one of the walmart specials on black friday. Its an acer and so far its been pretty good to me. Personally i dont care for toshiba unless you plan on completely wiping it and reinstalling. They come with SOO much crap on them its rediculous. The toshibas we have here at work have around 85 processes running in the background. Also the power management software on the toshibas is a giant pain in the butt.

Also we started ordering hp laptops to replace the toshibas and they are pretty solid.
