So heres the deal. I a very old sony viao (PCV-RX550) 1.8ghz 256MB ram with a Geforce 6200 PCI video card. Im trying to play world of warcraft now and it can run it, but with everything at the lowest setting and still has some issues every now and then. I thought about adding some ram, but the best it can handle is another 256(512 total). Because of this im thinking of just upgrading the motherboard and CPU to something that can run faster. Im not talking anything super powered or amazing, just something that works for my application.
Im thinking 2.5ghz 1GB ram and using the Geforce video card I have should be enough for my purposes. The ram from the computer is pc133 which is pretty much useless now, but I also happen to have 1GB of pc2700 sitting around (kingston KVR333/1gr). Is there a motherboard/cpu combo out there that would work with this ram and give me that boost im looking for. Im trying to spend less than $100 if possible. Thanks for any help.
