58 C okay on q6600

Thats odd, the Intel document I read gave me the distinct impression that it was the other way around.

Who uses speedfan? Yuck.

So if 71C is max of IHS what is max of any one core as read from coretemp..

This is from the Q6xxx manual...Tc stands for Tcase...I would guess the max core temps are 15-25 above that as they don't start throttling until tcase reaches 100c.

Obviously temps that high are not desired though, for example my clock becomes unstable if temps reach about 78-80c, puter usually freezes while running 2 instances of SMP folding....so I stuck my rad out the window and now 3 cores are 44c under load and core 0 is 52c under load..3.83ghz @ 1.55v ....

So 71c looks like a good stopping point anyways...
