why are all of you stuck on the DS3R still....an Asus P5k-e is a MUCH better motherboard...and it supports crossfire.

thats a p35-ds3P

and people lately have had crappy luck with Asus, and their Customer Service is poor to Non-existent at times...

if it supports crossfire, then it might be the better choice, if he does decide to go dual ATI cards... but a mobo brand is preference only. I have had nothing but good experiences with Gigabyte, so I went with it. But these only suggestions. It not like we are MAKING him buy these parts...

any reason behind this? a GTS's would mop the floor on any ATI cards out ATM....sure they do better in 3dmark..but the drivers still suck..and gameplay is still inferior to Nvidia cards.

This is incorrect now. Crossfire scales better than SLI, and ultimately 2 HD3870s are faster than SLI'd GTS

EDIT: This may have already been established. I think it's good though, little competition always helps us.
