does anyone know if windows xp and other stuff will boot up MUCH faster on 2 36.7GB Raptors in RAID0 than 1 73.4GB raptor alone? will the difference be PHENOMENAL? or, not that much?

It will be a tiny bit faster with the twin 36's in raid... somewhere someone posted an article showing that raid 0 really didn't help all that much. I'd get a single 74, but that's just me.

just to be exact . . .

2 samsung 80GB 7200RPM SATAs vs 1 73.4GB 10000RPM SATA

dont care about capacity, just performance

uhhh 2 would be faster
this is how raid 0 works
one peice of information is split into two blocks and sent to each hard drive meaning two hard drives doing one job would obviously be faster

I disagree... tests have proven that a single 74 gig raptor is very very close to the same speed as two 74's in raid 0. Although it can help with some things, according to what I've read, raid isn't all it's cracked up to be. I would still stay with one 74 gig (and I plan to with the computer I'm ordering in the next few weeks).
