quick question, im trying to install windows xp pro on a laptop that already has windows vista installed. during the windows installation it "set up did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer" any ideas how to fix this?

The XP isntall doesnt recognize the SATA drives. You have to go to the manufacturer's site and download the SATA Drivers and put them onto a Floppy. Since i am guessing this is a newer laptop without floppies then you have to slipstream the drivers into the XP install with nlite.

what manufactured website would i have to download them from?
the one from the laptop?
or the mobo?

Which ever one has the driver you need. Sometimes it is the laptop since they do provide these things. Other times you have to get it from the mobo site.

CPUID

Download and run CPUz. It will give you the make and model of the mother board.

Nice software Cpuid even i also installed to ko my BIOS version. Thanks for sharing with us.
