I have a hard drive in an external enclosure. I want to save space so I have the enclosure positioned vertically on its side. Is it bad for a hard drive to be standing vertically on its side?

but the data may fall to the bottom of the HDD and if your not careful, it may leak out of any cracks in the seam of the HDD. j/k

its like a cdrom drive . . .

some thin computers have it vertical, but i havnt seen much difference in speed, if any

Thanks for the replies, I have it standing vertically right now. It also seems to dissipate heat better when standing vertically.
