This is my first PC that I'm going to build for gaming. I'm not too sure about the budget, but somewhere around $1500 should do which includes a monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers. I think I need an OS I only have the XP Home upgrade. With some help from b1gapl's guide I came up with this setup please rate.

CPU - AMD Phenom 9500 Agena
MOBO - MSI K9A2 790X
RAM - GeIL DDR2 800 (2x1GB)
Video Card - HD 3870
PSU - XCLIO Greatpower 550W
HDD - Samsung SpinPoint T series 500GB
Heatsink - Thermaltake CL-P0114
Case - XCLIO Windtunnel
Monitor - Samsung 226BW
Keyboard - Razer Lycosa
Mouse - Razer Diamondback
Speakers - Logitech x-230

I was thinking of a Cooler Master 690 but since it's a mid-tower wasn't sure if it would have enough room. Oh just noticed that I need an optical drive too.

yeah if tiger direct still has that special on the stacker...then its a no brainer. Get vista, you'll love it. You could probably get a g11 keyboard off of e-bay brand new for like 30$ it doesnt have the lcd screen but who even uses it?
