Hi,

I have a problem where my DVD Drive vanished from 'My Computer'. I checked the device manager and its showing:

'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.'

I have checked and I had no response.
My DVD drive is a Lite-on DVDRW SHW-160P6S ATA

It was working fine up until now. I didn't make any changes to the system either.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Specs:
AMD Athlon X2 4200+ @ 2.2 GHz
1GB RAM
nVidia Geforce 7600 GS 512MB
Windows Vista HP

Thanks

It's Detecting to two 80GB partitions as Disk 0 in Disk Management as C: and D: along with the 8.79GB partition allocated to the OS. Also My card reader with F:, G:, H: and I:.

My DVD drive is no where to be found in the list.
