wow the 2900pro is as good/ close to the performance of a 3870.... im' giong to have to tell my friend about this

when you flash it with an XT BIOS.
But the 3870's still use a lot less power. One of the reasons I got mine.

my 580W PSU (2 x 18A +12V rails) handles both of them just fine

my score has improved form 3791 to 4220 on XP but i will reposet tomoz when i have my new CPU

not with a stock 4400 hsf. i can get mine up to 2.6 with no voltage changes and it runs under 20C so i think i can get mine up to 3+ if i do it right so you should be able to get yours to around 2.6~2.7 with a stock hsf.

also what did you get for the gfx scores? i wanna pair them up with my 3850 scores.

and it is a difference in 3dmark, its not like a x1600pro vs 8800 Ultra but its like 5-9 fps on some of the tests.

2.6 it boots, but crashes in games - well, crashed is crysis....
2.7 won't boot
could be my mobo, cause ya i would think i could hit 2.8 with a X2 4400 HSF +AS5 on a X2 3800
SmartGuardian says i'm runnin' 24C @ 2.5ghz right now (idle)

lol 15000 is cake for 2 2900,3850, or 3870's... just 1 2900 can get you to 15k easy w/ a quad...

I couldn't get to 15k with a 2900 and a quad, but I'm running Vista for business reasons.

Highest I could get was mid 13,000s.
