Which C2D for overclocking (bang for buck)

I say kick it old school and get the e6600 ;) . But nosboost did bring his e6600 to 3.6ghz. I'm at 3.0 now and I could probably get more on the same voltage. But I'm rebuilding my rig at the moment. I'll go for 3.6 afterwards.
 
This is true. But I got mine a year ago, when the e6600 was the only good deal that had 4m of cache. It has since been discounted, so it's certainly not a bad deal.
 
for the second time i never had a e2100 lol. i did have a e4300. and you answered your own question. i bought it cause i didn't like the intel setup i had.

also the e6600 is a great no questions asked, no regrets cpu, i believe it got CPU of the month on newegg like 3 or 4 times so if you go with that then good choice, you won't be dissapointed. but on the other hand i believe in terms of total percentage overclock at the lowest cost the e2160 takes the cake.
