So my buddy is wanted to upgrade from an old POS computer. To start him off, I'm suggesting the Gigabyte P35-DS3L and 2GB RAM. He said he'd overclock as long as I help him, which I will, but he needs a good budget processor and I don't know enough about the C2D's, only my Q6600 owns :)

Suggestions please!

the best bang for the buck is the 2160 or 2180. both can go above 3.0 ghz on stock and can probably go a bit higher with aftermarket cooling. so get one of them and a tuniq tower 120 or apf7 cooler

the title tho... which C2D for overclocking. also it isn't the best bang for the buck cpu cause it can hit like 3.0 but not much over that. also its more expensive then the e2180 and e2160.

but don't get me wrong, i would rather reccommend a amd over a intel anyday. lol
