Recently I reformatted my Dell Latitude D610, everything works great except when I try to play a DVD it comes up with he error:

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card."

I'm using VLC player at the moment, but is there any way I can play DVD's in Windows Media Player? I think before the reformat it had Power DVD installed. I've looked through all the CD's I have and none of them have Power DVD on them.

Help would be appreciated!

You need codecs. Google for KLite, CCCP or Ac3Filter. Also you could use WMP Classic which does require any DCP (Digital Copyright Protection). Also have you updated your video card drivers?

Other than that the best app i have found and used...AnyDVD. Strips the copyright protection so it gets read like a unprotected DVD and i can do what i want with it.
