Heh, as much as I'd consider myself an enthusiast, I am rather uncomfortable with the idea of sanding down a $250 processor.

I'll see how temps and overclock are first.

Plus, it'll be hard to resell it once I want to get a Q9450 later on.

Oh common, I have yet to see anyone destroy their processor by lapping it..

Not sure if I can bring myself to do it >< Depends how bad the fit is on the cpu block.

Anyhow sick system merk XD I've got that keyboard right now. Cept I got the red one. Its VERY nice. Built like a brick too. Its short a few media keys which would be handy. I miss the next song button. But no biggie.

oh wait, you mean lapping the heatsink, right? I thought you meant the other side of the processor... hahaha

Lapping actually brought down the temps of 2 cores by about 10C. And now all 4 cores stay within 1-2C of each other, whereas before there would be as much as 14C difference between cores at the same usage level.
