Power supply: going from 250w to 350w

with a bigger power supply, will i be able to get any benefits from it (computer works fine with the OEM 250w)?

I have a basically-new 350w PS laying around the house since my uncle didn't need it anymore.

I know I should try and decide for myself, but i don't want to go through all the trouble. Thanks!

256MB SDRAM PC100
stock onboard video and sound card
DVD-player (samsung?)
CD-RW drive (HP)


Soon to be upgraded:
512MB SDRAM memory
Creative Lab Soundblaster (not sure, but its going to be the 24-bit model)
Video Graphic card (again, not sure yet)
