Odd .. mines running at 700/2000, at 50 degrees C, while running two games and other apps. I'd consider that cool considering the clocks are pretty much matching, or better, than a GTS. My point is, for nearly the same performance, save your money for the 9 series this february. I was thinking that upgrading to this 8800GT would almost be a waste seeing as it's only a few months off, but to each his own .. and own bank account.
Well consider yourself lucky, check the EVGA, XFX and BFG forums and you will see a lot of people complaining about how hot their 8800Gt runs at stock speeds. Some people have their cards hit 75c on load.
I have my GTS at 740/2100 @ 40c idle and 52c load.
FYI, i'm running crysis @ 1360x768 with very high settings and i rarely hit below 30FPS. i'm loving this card.
