Ive built myself a new PC and so put my old graphics card and RAM into my sisters PC:
Geforce 6800XT 128MB AGP (from Radeon 9250)
1GB RAM (2x512MB) PC3200 DDR (from 768MB)

I forgot about drivers for the card so it loaded up with ATI drivers. I used Driver Cleaner Pro to delete anything under ATI (i didnt click for it to delete any of the ATI extensions, just ATI). The put in the 93.71 nVidia driver ( I used this driver im pretty sure).

Tome Raider Legend and Anniversary and The Sims 2 play fine. But, GTA3 and Oblivion are mainly vorbs of black space. A lot of the textures dont show up and what you see is blackness.

Some things show like a bit of a wall, the players face. But its completely unplayable and sister isnt too happy.

Edit: Theese games were on the computer and playing fine before the upgrade btw.
Im really lost on this, help much appreciated.

Those are ANCIENT drivers.

Uninstall all nvidia and ati drivers from add/remove programs....then run driver sweeper (get @ guru3d.com)

Then reboot and install the latest nvidia drivers from nvidia.com

Thanks that fixed it. I was sure newer drivers would focus on the 7 and 8 series GPUs would have less support for the 6 series.
