since your video editing i presume you need a fairly large hard drive
i suggest the 7200.11 500gb or 1tb
and make sure you get a 64-bit operating system for your 4gb of RAM

I can't afford $1,000+ programs, and I am completely against pirating. So a)I won't be needing 4 GB of RAM, and B) I don't want to drain cash on a brand new OS. Basically, my computer right now (Athlon 64 3000+, 1 GB, radeon 9550) can still easily run my editing program and store footage. But for the future, I'll need something better, in addition to a new program.

Are 4 GB/a new OS really necessary?

um
VISTA PREMIUM 64-bit was $110 when i got it
i recommend this because 32-bit only supports a little over 3gb
if your going to be video editing on vista 4gb is recommended for good performance especially since its under $100 often for a nice set
