Device wont work

What does it mean, when I get error code 10 in device manager ?
I have no idea why, its my integrated SATA controller. I'm using IDE HDD now since I can't get SATA to work. I tried other drivers to no avail.

I have, but they wouldn't have effect anyways.
The SATA is in different chip which is integrated to PCI.
Promise FastTrack, don't remember now the exact model.

Your chipset drivers should take care of it. It has to be something with your BIOS then. Have you updated your BIOS?

I tried to enable and disable the SATA chip in BIOS and also use it with IDE and RAID mode but nothing will help, it just gives the error code 10.
There are different drivers for IDE and RAID modes, I've tried all of them.
Also I tried 3 different BIOSis including the newest one.

Oh and the hard drives will display correctly during the boot and in BIOS, just windows wont see them.

Maybe the wrong chipset drivers then? If the boot and BIOS sees them then something Windows is loading is causing this.

Well propably not such a big deal, I traded already my SATA HD for an PATA one.

did you load the sata driver by hitting f6?
