I have an ATI X1900XT video card but it now looks like its shot. So I am looking for a BETTER card to replace it with. I have a single 1.1 PCI-e x16 slot on my mobo. I am a regular gamer and need a card that can run any game on all max settings with a resolution of around 1440 x 900 or 1280 x 768. My monitor will most likely consist of a 32” LCD TV so I need a card that supports 720p / 1080i and has component video or HDMI outputs.

I have a price limit of around $500. I plan to overclock the card in the future. The computer it will be used in is listed in my signature.

Also if it supported OpenGL 2.0 / DX 10 that would be nice. However it will be used on XP so I might have to get the DX10 drivers for XP.

I'd go for the 8800GTS 512mb....if you like to always heap on tons of AA and AF then the 8800GTX is still the best card out...and here in the UK it's only about 15 quid more than the 8800GTS.

bahaha!

Good luck with 10-30fps

Look, im tryna say that the two cards are the same. People assume that it just cause it has 256mb ram its inferior, but in reality its the same card. if you play games at 1920, go ahead and get ur fancy 512mb sli setup. Im fine with 1440x900.
