Used an XP already being used on my sisters PC..

For my new computer it was my plan to use my Windows XP OS from my old computer. However that was an old version, my sister had XP with SP2 so I decided to use that disc thinking i could activate it with my old XP key.

But my sis' XP didnt like that. I went to the phone up activation and told the woman there i was reactivating and that this XP was currently on no other PCs.

So now this XP is on both this PC and my sisters, one activated normally and one activated by phone.
Everything seems fine. So are we both good to go? Or will we be caught out if either of us trys to update XP? I heard that that could happen so ran to switch automatic updates off on both our PCs >__>

why did you use your sisters cd. Sp2 is a service pack that you get free from microsoft. You could use your disk then download sp2. Or you could get it shipped to you on a disc for free if your connection is too slow.

If you used your own COA license number, there's definitely nothing to worry about.

i think your actually allowed to download an xp cd, but its not legal to use the serial number what came with the downloaded xp disc.
