Tell me about this Mobo/Processor (Total noob)

yeah, if you are not going to overclock, the stock heatsink is totally adequate. go ahead and get the thermal compound, as it will lower temps even with the stock HSF.
a 3ghz x2 is friggin fast dude. i am not going to vouch for the quality of that mobo, i dont know anything about it. but the 6000 is an excellent cpu.

I've used a lot of asus boards, even the really cheapie one's never gave me a problem, which is why I kinda like them. The reviews of this board on Newegg say its great, the only con on every list is, it won't allow you to OC.

I think for the price/quality and the reliability i've had with Asus vs other MOBO's, this is about perfect.

It's kinda hard not to have brand loyalty for some things tho, I love ATI video cards because the first good card I got was a Radeon X800 XL, and **** it was smokin' at the time. :D
