Computer crashes...

My computer works fine and out of no where it freezes, the screen turns gray and other colors that was on the screen before it freezes. Music I was listening to stops. You still hear the computer running fine but you cant do anything.

I have a gateway GT5032.

how long will the computer work until it crashes? Check your bios for overheating. Open up your pc and clean out any excess dust. Does it crash during basic normal use..or are you playing games?

It does it during normal use. It 1st happen once a week and now its happening 2-3 times a day. Sometimes it takes 5 hours to do it or 30 minutes to it between crashes.
