Hello and thanks in advance for your help :D

I'm building a new system and am not getting any display on my monitor.

MB - new X GeForce 680i LT SLI Motherboard
CPU - new Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Processor 2.66GHz Retail
Memory - new OCZ SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (4 x 1024MB)
Video - (2) new BFG GeForce 8600 GTS OC 256MB GDDR3
I also have new HD and DVD but left those disconnected till I get a display.

When it didn't work I pulled the MB out of the case and set it on cardboard just to make sure it wasn't shorting.
Bought a new 750 watt power supply.
Connected MB power, CPU power and vidcard power to the MB.
2 sticks of memory in slots 0 and 1.
1 vidcard installed in primary x16 sli slot.
Re-checked the CPU to make sure it was seated correctly.
I noticed that the retail CPU fan mount was so tight it slightly warped the MB on the card edge so I removed the fan entirely to test.(I wonder if this is the problem, but won't it just do that to any mb?)

MB lights come on and fans spin on power-up. No display.

Tried different monitors, different vid cards (sli and pci) no display.

I'm afraid to try my old CPU in the new MB for fear of frying it since I was going to build a system for my daughter with it.

Any suggestions on verifying whether the problem is the MB or CPU?

THANKS!

Could be a ram problem. Try with just 1 stick.

Also booting with the CPU fan off is not recommended...in just a few seconds it will heat up and to prevent overheating will shutoff or downclock or something.

Tried with 1 stick and put fan back in, plugged in, just didnt tighten the clips.

No display.

Thanks though.

SOLVED!!! :D

Turns out it was posting the whole time, but I could not see the display when using the DVI-analog converter.
Not a bad converter though I believe since I tried 4 converters with my 2 vid cards.

A friend loaned me a DVI cable and it works fine with that.
Perhaps after I install XP it will work in analog on my CRT?

Thanks for all the help!
