Ok, I have come to this forum because I was recommended by a friend of mine that said I will get good feedback, so props on your side.

Here is my situation. I am looking for a decent PC that will provide for future upgrades, with a price point of around $750-$800. Willing to spend more on an upgrade if it is really thought to be needed. The PC will be used as general purpose, web browsing/office/media, but I defiantly will be using it for a gaming rig wanting to play future games not necessarily in max settings, but want them to still look good. I am thinking, COD4, Crysis?, Oblivion type of games. Also keep in mind i already have the LCD, keyboard/mouse, speakers, so i just want the pc only. This is what i have came up with so far...

I would really appreciate feedback on upgrades/downgrades that will get me the most out of my money, but still stay right around the price range.

Thanks in advance to whoever help i appreciate it a bunch :)

#1- its not suggested to get a psu that comes with a case.
#2- the 8600 isnt really a good card for gaming, unless your on a low budget and want dx10.

i wouldnt suggest getting a psu that comes with a case.
And the 8600gt isnt that great for gaming, unless you want a budget card for dx10 gaming.

PSU that comes with case is Newegg.com - Antec earthwatts EA500 ATX12V v2.0 500W Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CUL, FCC, TUV, CE, CB, C-tick, CCC - Retail
seems okay

but I'd say get this Newegg.com - XFX PVT88PUDF4 GeForce 8800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail card and it'll last you a while, only ~56 bucks more w/ mir ( ~36 w/o)

if i want to make up for the xtra cost spent on vid card i'd go 4 lower end cpu like the E4500 or something
since computer now a days r so powerful MOST AVERAGE home-users would be content with a P4
