Problem With Disk Management Tool of XP

Recently I encountered a problem with my Disk Management tool under Computer management.

When I click on Disk management I get an error at the bottom of the window "Unable to connect to Disk Manager Service"

When I tried starting the logical disk manager frm services.msc again I get an error message this time with the following content

"Could not start the Logical Disk Manager Service on Local Computer
Error 2: The system could not find the file specified"

wat could be wrong? wats the file actually responsible for disk mngmt service?
If I hav lost is it available for download? pls help...

This is a system file. Which one i dont know exactly but it seems your system is either infected or needs to be repaired.

close programs like partition magic when trying to access it

Look for System Restore to earlier date if possible. Or run System File Checker Utility for complete Windows File Verification. It can solve ur problem.
