thats dirt cheap if a person wants to play at like a low resolution, and hugely puts the 8600gts to shame and its in the same price range

1440x900 is not low res, and it does fine. And when the 9 series comes out, the price will come down even more making a second to run in sli affordable.
 
I don't know, the 512MB GT is up to 25% faster in Crysis than the 256MB GT at the low resolution of 1280x1024 in DX9, no AA, on high... I'm not really impressed with these. I was hoping for equal performance on lower resolutions, which it's not really delivering on. Keep in mind that the 512MB version has a memory clocked clocked 200MHz faster (400MHz effective): http://www.techist.com/forums/f76/256mb-gt-slightly-slower-160952/

1440x900 is a fairly low resolution actually.....


256mb is a little bit low....should be alright in most games for resolutions 1280x1024 and under though providing you don't heap on the AA+AF.
