Compaq armada 1700 keyboard problem

I have a small problem with my compaq armada 1700 laptop
About 2 months my keyboard had died and I went on ebay.com and bought another one used.
Since then my new keyboard has been typing the wrong letters and numbers, for example, if I press M it will type W if I type 1,2,3 it will type a different letter.... I looked at the connectors and they look decent. does anyone know what the problem is ? and would I need to insert the connectors again to see if it does anything ?

Try to buy one new (I assume you're using eBay). If you're still having a hard time, I'd recommend just using an external keyboard.

P.S. If your laptop is still under warrenty, see if Compaq can send you a replacement keyboard. I'd also try contacting their customer service.
