ok so im almost done in choosing all my parts to purchase 2 weeks from now. My plan is to get an HD 3870 x2 when it comes out, n another later. I recently decided on getting the 520w no doubt, but after looking at pics of the HD 3870 x2 again from this thread a while back, i noticed that it requires a 6pin n 8pin connector to run one card, which neither the 520w, 620w, nor 650w carries, only the 750w!

so for me to save money i found a 4pin to 8pin converter about $3.50 w/o. If i get the 520w or 620w, then i can just get the converter for one card, n another when another with a second HD 3870 x2. I personally want to go with a 620w to be on the safe side, but if u guys really think the 520w can handle 2 HD 3870 x2s, then so be it.

here r the differ PSUs n converter i found:

go for the 620hx. I believe u will need the power especially if you want to overclock your system. ati cards usually have a high energy consumption. once the official specs are released you will see anyway.

the 650w is there too but didnt post it. U say i should get the 620w along with my other parts for Christmas, n then get the 4pin to 8pin converter when the HD 3870 x2 comes out?

if so then ill do it. I just need to make sure which PSU to choose from when the HD 3870 x2 comes out is all, n im rebuilding my whole system this Christmas.

EDIT:

here is the 650w PSU from Corsair:

Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX ATX12V / EPS12V 650W Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CE, CB, TUV, FCC, CCC - Retail

i could get this one, but a lot of ppl say the watts dont matter, only the amps on the 12v rails do, but then is having a single worse then having 3? Only the 520w has 3 12v rails.

EDIT 2:

the 650w PSU has 2 x 6pin+2, thus having 2 8pin options. I would still have to get the 4 to 8pin converter if i get a second HD 3870 x2, so i would have to say the 650w is gonna be most likely my best choice.
